Our MissionOur Mission

The mission of College Board Schools is to prepare every student for access to and success in college, particularly those students in urban environments. This is accomplished through rigorous implementation of an Advisory Program, expert college counseling, content planning and a focus on technology integration. To arrive at our goal of “all students college ready”, College Board Schools use programs and services including SpringBoard™, CollegeEd®, MyRoad™; the PSAT/NMSQT® and SAT® assessments; and Advanced Placement®.

Our SchoolsOur Schools

In 2011-12 we’re partnering or are affiliated with 19 schools.  These schools are located across the Northeast, with 12 schools in New York City, three schools in Rochester, two schools in Buffalo, one school in Yonkers, and one school in Baltimore. A new College Board School, West Leadership Academy, is scheduled to open in the Fall of 2012 in Denver, Colorado.

Student SuccessStudent Success

College Board Schools focus on preparing students for the rigors of higher education, as well as entry into college. Our data attests to this, as our 2010 4-year average graduation rate was higher than New York State’s (80% vs. 76%), and 91% of those graduating College Board School students were accepted to at least one college. Our students have been accepted to and enrolled in a wide variety of two and four year colleges and universities, including (as reported by our schools): Cornell University, The City University of NY, The State University of NY.
